Who is the "Fribourg Cybersecurity Seminar"

A non profit association

The origins of the Fribourg Cybersecurity Seminar go back to 2013, when a group of professors and researchers from the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture took the first initiative. Their aim was to facilitate the exchange of information between professors, local authorities and individuals in the field of cybersecurity. However, the group ran out of steam and disbanded after a few years.

In 2019, a new group of students and teachers emerged with a shared interest in cybersecurity. They sought to create a dynamic community by facilitating discussions through short news presentations and showcasing innovative tools. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, this group managed to stay connected for a few months before gradually dissolving. However, this experience sparked the idea of creating an organization that would bring together students, teachers, researchers, alumni and professionals.

In 2022, the time has come to formalise this community into a more structured group, characterised by shared values, objectives, a defined format, financial investment and a team of passionate, motivated people. And so the Fribourg Cybersecurity Seminar was born.
